: a mineral NaCa2Al5Si13O36.14H2O of the zeolite family consisting of a hydrous silicate of aluminum, calcium, and sodium, being white when pure with pearly luster on the cleavage surface, often occurring in sheaflike aggregations of crystals and also in radiated masses, and considered by some to include heulandite (hardness 3.5-4, specific gravity 2.09-2.21) — called also desmine
